Senior Design Associate

Position Summary

The Senior Design Associate is responsible for the conceptualization and implementation of design solutions to meet clients’ business needs. This is a lead role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and understanding of the practical use and application of modern-day design software tools. The Senior Design Associate will also assist with marketing and brand initiatives and mentoring junior design associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transform business requirements/objectives into wireframes and full color design mockups that anticipate user needs and communicate application flow to developers and project stakeholders
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to drive toward a final set of pixel perfect mockups and/or prototypes
  • Work closely with a technical team and test dashboards to ensure the successful execution of user interface designs and the preservation of the original design intent in the final product
  • Develop and maintain style guides used for application development
  • Collaborate with the development team using Tableau and MicroStrategy concepts
  • Present storyboards and design ideas to clients
  • Participate in design critiques, prototype reviews, brainstorm sessions, and company-wide demos
  • Assist with Data Meaning marketing and branding initiatives
  • Mentor junior and intern level design associates

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Outstanding design portfolio showcasing strong creative skills and passion for creating simple, elegant, and engaging interface designs
  • 4+ years of experience in Graphic Design, User Interface Design, or related field
  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge in design applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign
  • Advanced understanding of user experience best practices and fundamental visual design principles (typography, layout, color, etc.)
  • Experience in designing workflows, storyboards, wireframes, and full color mockups
  • Expertise in Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word)
  • A desire to learn new skills through training and on-the-job experience
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment
  • The ability to balance a love of pixel perfection with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills
  • Desire to thrive in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work on collaborative teams or independently
  • A passion for continuous self-driven learning about new technologies and design trends
